Generate a Set of Interview Questions for a Key Hire
You've got an important hire coming up and a vague plan to wing the questions. This prompt builds a structured set: every candidate gets the same questions, rated against a consistent rubric, which is what actually predicts who'll do the job well. Tell it the role and its three core competencies. Good for hiring managers who never had this taught to them properly.
<context> Unstructured interviews are poor predictors of job performance. Structured interviews, where every candidate answers the same questions rated against a consistent rubric, significantly improve both predictive validity and fairness. Designing good questions is a skill most hiring managers never learn formally. </context> <task> Describe the role you are hiring for and its three most important competencies: [job title, competency 1, competency 2, competency 3]. Generate a structured interview question set of eight to ten questions. Include: at least two behavioural questions (tell me about a time...), at least two situational questions (imagine you...), one values-alignment question, and one question the candidate is unlikely to have rehearsed. </task> <output_format> A numbered question list. For each question: the question itself, the competency it targets (in brackets), and a two-sentence note on what a strong answer includes. End with a simple scoring rubric template (1-4 scale with anchor descriptions) the interviewer can fill in per candidate. </output_format>
