Summarise Your Progress Towards a Personal Goal Into an Honest Mid-Year Check
You set the goal. You have not quite been doing the thing. This checks in honestly: whether the goal is still the right one, where the gap is and why, whether the timeline still makes sense, and what one adjustment would actually help. If the honest answer is to let it go, this helps you see that too.
Write down the following: the personal goal you set at the start of the year or a recent period, the specific actions you planned to take towards it, what you actually did, any change in circumstances that affected the goal, and where you stand now. Then produce a mid-year check of under 200 words covering: whether the goal is still the right one, what the gap is between planned and actual progress, what is causing the gap (honest: not just bad luck), whether the original timeline is still realistic, and one adjustment to make in the next quarter. If the goal is no longer right, say so plainly rather than adjusting it until it disappears.
