Summarise a Stressful Work Week Into a Note That Helps Next Week
The week was hard and you do not want to think about it. That is fine. This takes ten minutes: what made it hard, what you handled well, what you would change, and what to clear before you log off. Short enough to actually do, useful enough to make next week slightly better.
At the end of a difficult week, write down: what made it hard (specific events, not general feelings), what you handled well, what you handled poorly, and one thing that surprised you about how the week went. Then produce a short summary of under 150 words covering: the main source of pressure this week, one thing to carry forward as a learning, one thing to do differently next week, and one thing to clear before you close down for the weekend. The note is for you, not a manager. Be specific and honest rather than diplomatic.
