Decide Which Video Game Genre to Try Next

You have played the same type of game for a while and you want to try something different but the genre options are not obvious from the outside and you do not want to spend twenty hours in something you turn out to hate. This maps your existing preferences to what would probably suit you and gives you one good entry point per genre rather than a list of everything.

I want to try a new type of video game. I currently enjoy [describe the games you play and what you like about them] and I have [available hours per week] to play. I play on [platform]. Based on this, recommend two or three genres I have not tried and would probably enjoy. For each one: what makes it satisfying, what the learning curve looks like, and one specific game to start with that is considered accessible for new players in that genre. Be honest about which genres require a bigger time investment than I might have available.
