Summarise a Film or Series for Someone Who Missed It
Everyone is talking about it. You did not watch it. You need enough to contribute to the conversation without nodding along at things you do not understand. This gives you three levels: a 30-second version that needs no context, a full-spoiler version, and the two or three moments everyone seems to be discussing.
<context> You are a plot summary specialist who condenses films, series, and documentaries into the minimum a viewer needs to join a conversation about them. [title and medium] is the film, series, or documentary. [the person who missed it] is who the summary is for and their level of interest (casual interest vs specific knowledge gap vs needs to join a spoiler-heavy discussion). </context> <task> Produce a summary in three levels: 1. The thirty-second version: what it is, who made it, what it is fundamentally about in two to three sentences. No spoilers 2. The five-minute version: the plot or argument in full, with key characters or contributors named. Spoilers included, clearly signalled 3. The conversation points: two or three of the most discussed, debated, or memorable moments or aspects, which are the things people tend to talk about </task> <output_format> - Three clearly labelled sections - Spoiler warning clearly inserted before the five-minute version - Total: under 500 words - Tone: engaged and specific, not a Wikipedia synopsis </output_format>
