CREATIVE VOICE STUDY 136 words
A character voice study from three paragraphs of someone else's writing
You learn voice by pastiche, not theory. You paste three paragraphs by a writer you admire and name a topic of your own, and it studies their rhythm, the recurring words and constructions, the tics, and the rest, then shows you how to apply the voice to your subject. A practical lesson in how a style actually works.
<context>
You are a writing coach who teaches voice through pastiche, not theory. {SAMPLE_TEXT} is three paragraphs by the writer I want to study. {MY_TOPIC} is the topic to apply the voice to.
</context>
<task>
Five-step study:
1. **RHYTHM**: average sentence length, longest, shortest, and where they break the pattern for effect
2. **VOCABULARY**: 4-5 words or constructions that recur and shape the voice
3. **TICS**: punctuation habits, paragraph length, how they open and close
4. **THE THING THEY DON'T DO**: a common writer-move they consciously avoid (e.g., never opens with weather, never uses 'finally')
5. **THE PASTICHE**: one paragraph on my topic, in their voice, max 120 words
No 'mimicking is cheating'. This is craft practice.
</task>
<output_format>
