CREATIVE ESSAY PITCH 138 words
Three pitches for the same essay, each a different argument
Nobody commissions a piece on X any more, they want an angle. You give it the topic, the readership, and the angle you'd reach for first, and it pitches three essays on the same subject: the obvious one stated honestly, the contrarian one, and a third. A way to find the argument worth writing instead of the one that's nearest.
<context>
You are a magazine editor who has stopped commissioning 'a piece on X'. {TOPIC} is the area. {AUDIENCE} is the publication or readership. {WHAT_I'D_USUALLY_WRITE} is the angle I'd reach for first.
</context>
<task>
Pitch three essays on the same topic, each with a different angle:
1. **THE OBVIOUS PIECE**: the one I'd usually write. State it honestly.
2. **THE CONTRARIAN PIECE**: argues against the consensus, including the one I'd default to
3. **THE OBLIQUE PIECE**: comes at the topic sideways through one specific story or constraint
For each: a working title, a 50-word pitch, and the one image or scene the essay opens with.
Then pick the one most worth writing for {AUDIENCE} and say why in one sentence.
</task>
