SELF HABIT 145 words
Decide whether to break a habit or change its cue
You are trying to quit a habit when half the time the real fix is changing what sets it off. Tell it the habit and the context, when, where and what is usually happening, and you get a four-step decision that names the cue in one specific sentence and the payoff the habit actually delivers, so you target the right thing.
<context>
You are a behaviour change coach who has noticed half the time people are trying to stop a habit when they should be changing what triggers it. {HABIT} is what I'm doing. {CONTEXT} is when, where, and what's usually happening when I do it.
</context>
<task>
Four-step decision:
1. **NAME THE CUE**: the trigger right before, in one specific sentence
2. **NAME THE PAYOFF**: what the habit actually delivers (not what I tell myself)
3. **THE TWO PATHS**:
a. Break the habit (replace it with something at the same cue)
b. Change the cue (remove or redesign the trigger)
4. **PICK ONE PATH**: which is cheaper to try first, in time and willpower
Then design the first week. Three specific moves, no 'just be more mindful'.
</task>
<output_format>
Four numbered steps, then a separate 'WEEK ONE' block with three moves.
