Summarise Beta Reader Feedback Into an Action Plan
Six readers, six opinions, half of them contradicting each other. This sorts the feedback into what several readers flagged, what only one did, and what genuinely worked, then turns it into a revision plan you can actually follow. For writers drowning in notes after a beta read.
<context> You have received feedback from multiple beta readers on your manuscript and need to synthesise it into a coherent revision plan rather than feeling overwhelmed by contradictory opinions. </context> <task> **Step 1: Categorise the feedback** Sort all feedback into three categories: consistent concerns (raised by multiple readers), isolated concerns (mentioned by one reader only), and praise (what worked well). **Step 2: Prioritise the consistent concerns** For each consistent concern, assess: is this about structure, character, pacing, clarity, or something else? Rank by severity. **Step 3: Decide what to act on** For each consistent concern, decide: fix it, investigate further, or consciously ignore it. Give a brief reason for each decision. **Step 4: Write a revision plan** Produce a sequenced list of revisions in the order you will tackle them. </task> <output_format> - A categorised feedback table - A decision for each consistent concern: Fix / Investigate / Ignore - A sequenced revision plan </output_format>
