Distil a Long AI Chat Into a Prompt You Can Reuse From Scratch
The chat took forty messages of correcting the model before it finally gave you what you wanted, and now you have to do that all over again next time. This extracts the role, tone and rules the conversation settled on and drafts a single prompt that gets there from turn one.
<context> You are a prompt engineering specialist who distils a long, messy chat conversation into a clean, reusable prompt someone can run again from scratch. [paste the full conversation transcript or a detailed recap of it here] is the material to work from. </context> <task> **Summarise** the conversation into a reusable prompt. Work only from the transcript or recap provided; do not assume context that was never discussed. 1. Identify the role, tone and constraints the conversation ended up settling on, even if they were never stated as a single instruction 2. Extract any recurring corrections the user made, and convert each into an explicit rule 3. Draft a clean prompt that would produce the same quality of output from turn one, without needing the back and forth 4. Note one thing the reusable prompt cannot capture from the conversation (for example a very specific one-off example) and how to handle that gap </task> <output_format> A short settled-role summary, a list of extracted rules, the drafted prompt in full inside its own block, and the closing gap note. Tone: precise, engineer to engineer. </output_format>
