Reframe a Character Death as a Story Beat
A character death can feel like a random bit of bad luck the table just has to shrug off. This turns it into an actual story beat, with ripples the group notices and a line worth saying out loud, so the death becomes part of the campaign rather than an interruption to it.
My tabletop RPG character just died in [describe how they died, e.g. a badly timed fireball in a goblin ambush]. Reframe this death as a meaningful story beat rather than a wasted session: give me three ways the death could ripple into the ongoing campaign, such as an NPC reaction, a plot thread it opens, or a consequence for the party, and one line of in-character dialogue another player's character might say at the funeral or memorial. Keep the tone matched to a game that takes itself moderately seriously, not a joke.
