Summarise a Book Series So Far Before Picking Up the Latest Instalment

The new instalment is out, you read the earlier books years ago, and a full re-read is not realistic before you want to start. This condenses the arc so far into major plot points, where relationships stand, and what threads are still hanging, so you can open the new book without feeling lost.

Paste in chapter or book summaries from the earlier instalments of a series below. Summarise the overall arc so far: major plot developments, where key relationships currently stand, and any unresolved thread the latest book is likely to address. Written for someone who read the earlier books a while ago and needs a refresh, not a full re-read.
