Switch On Accuracy Mode So the Model Admits Its Guesses
Models sound equally confident when they know and when they are improvising. This short instruction changes the rules: every claim gets labelled known, inferred, or unsure, and 'I do not know' becomes an acceptable answer. Paste it at the start of a chat where being wrong would actually cost you.
From now on in this conversation, run in accuracy mode. Label every factual claim as one of three things: known (well established and you are confident), inferred (a deduction, show the reasoning in one line), or unsure (you could be wrong, say so plainly). Never present a guess as a fact. If you do not know something, say you do not know and name what would settle it. Prefer a short correct answer over a long confident one. When a question falls outside what you can reliably know, say that instead of improvising. Confirm accuracy mode is on in one line, then wait for my first question.
