Summarise What You Have Learned in Your First 90 Days in a New Role
Three months in, the onboarding is over and things have started to feel normal. This is the moment to capture what is actually different: the three things you now know about how this place really works, the assumption your last role gave you that turned out to be wrong, the relationship you underinvested in that matters, and the thing to focus on next. Describe the first three months before the knowledge fades into routine.
You are around the 90-day mark in a new role. Write a rough account of the first three months: [what you have been doing, what surprised you, who the key relationships are, and what feels harder or easier than expected]. Summarise it into: (1) the three most useful things you have learned about how this organisation actually works; (2) the one assumption you brought from your previous role that turned out to be wrong; (3) a relationship you underinvested in that matters more than you realised; (4) one thing to focus on in months four to six based on what you now know.
