Critique Your Stress Management Approach
Some stress management strategies genuinely reduce stress load. Others just reduce the feeling for long enough to get through the day without changing anything. The distinction matters because the second type tends to mask what is growing underneath. This critiques what you are currently doing and finds what would actually make a difference.
I want an honest critique of how I am currently managing stress, rather than reassurance that I am doing fine. How I currently deal with stress: [describe your main strategies, for example exercise, drinking, avoiding, talking to people, working longer, or other] The type and level of stress I am dealing with: [describe the sources and how chronic or acute they are] How effective my current approach feels: [describe honestly, including whether it is working or just managing] What I have tried and given up on: [describe] Tell me: which of my strategies are genuinely helping and which are just reducing the feeling without addressing anything, what my current approach is costing me that I might not be accounting for, and the one thing I could add or change that would have the most impact on my stress level over the next four weeks.
