Critique Your Portfolio or Creative Body of Work
Portfolios are often assembled rather than curated. You add new work, keep old work you are proud of, and end up with a collection that makes several different impressions at once. The question is whether the impression it makes is the one you intend. This critiques the portfolio as a whole, not the individual pieces.
I want an honest critique of my creative portfolio or body of work rather than feedback on any single piece. What my portfolio or body of work contains: [describe the range of work, the volume, the time period, and the medium] What I am trying to communicate through it: [describe the impression, expertise, or capability you want it to demonstrate] Who I am showing it to and for what purpose: [describe the audience and context] What I am uncertain about: [describe what you are not sure is working] Tell me: whether the portfolio is doing what I said I want it to do, what pattern or direction emerges from the work as a whole (versus what I intended), the one thing that is undermining the overall impression, and what I should add, remove, or reorder to make the body of work speak more clearly.
